If you added up
all the time you spent
staring at a screen,
would you be surprised?

On average, people spend
44% of their time staring at screens.
[1]

At a global average of
3.25 hours a day,
smartphones are the
most frequently used
electronic device.

Social media apps are the most ADDICTIVE.
Because they stimulate the brain's reward system, which causes the release of
dopamine (the "feel-good" hormone).
Excessive social media use can thus lead to physical and psychological addiction.
Every time your phone buzzes, it's a distraction that can take a few minutes to recover from.
As a result, app engagement is proportional to the number of notifications received.
Exhaustion, cognitive confusion, and inability to focus are only some of the side effects of social media's information overload.

People can develop addictive behaviors with smartphones and social media, including:
• constantly thinking about the device or platform and craving to use it,
• using their smartphone or social media apps to cope or modify their mood, and
• experiencing withdrawal symptoms when they can't access their phone or apps. [3]
