After every fall, there is a rise ...
A ray of hope for CMU Heinz Graduates in these times of layoffs.

What's on the news?

All we hear today in

- CMU's Heinz College
is "layoffs" 😖

What's in the air at the renowned CMU's Heinz College?
These are challenging times. We are going through a difficult phase of life.
The job market is crashing, and there are layoffs all around.
Inflation rates are booming in the United States, and finding jobs is getting harder.
Many students, especially new grads, are feeling hopeless about the future. I have seen many students in this situation.
But I firmly believe there is a ray of hope for every Heinz College Graduate ...
... despite the following daunting but authentic facts.

Where is the hope?

It's Worth The Wait
Unfortunately, there is more to these layoffs :(

The monthly reported layoffs in the US in 2022 have exponentially increased in the final quarter. This is heartbreaking, just before the holiday season.
Graduation of December 2022 Heinz graduates is just around the corner. Such an unfortunate trend can be depressing to many.
As expected, most major tech hubs in the US are affected by the recent layoffs, including San Fransisco, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Austin, and Atlanta.
A lot of Heinz graduates get full-time offers in these leading tech hubs.
The workforce in E-Commerce, Fintech, Proptech, and Health Care has been the most affected by these layoffs.
Industries revolving around Enterprise Software, Media, Saas, Edtech, and Artificial Intelligence follow next.
A majority of Heinz graduates work in these industries upon graduation.
The public sector is affected more than the private sector by these layoffs. However, it may be possible that the private companies did not report their layoffs.
Nonetheless, Heinz graduates land in both public and private companies upon graduation.
Despite the above daunting trends and facts ...

There is hope ...

After every dull period of recession (with high unemployment rates), the US sees a significant decrease in unemployment. This is a positive sign and a small ray of hope.
If we were to enter a recession, everyone would be in it together, but things would be fine after that.

But if this hope did not meet your expectations ...
There is more hope.

The most enormous and reliable ray of hope the Heinz graduates have is the potential they have developed in themselves at CMU.
Being admitted into a top-ranked university, CMU has exposed its Heinz College graduates to a robust, extensive, and practical coursework.
Skills learned and developed by Heinz graduates are in high demand in the industry.
CMU's Heinz graduates earn much more than the other master's degree holders in the US.
If you are still not satisfied ...

Even during the tough times of COVID, when the economy was crashing, and when the world was going through its toughest recession, the employment of Heinz Graduates did not stop.
The painful COVID recession did not stop Heinz graduates from achieving their goals.
So, my dear friend ...
