GUARANTEED BASIC MOBILITY PILOT
Research study exploring affordable transportation options
WHAT IS THE GUARANTEED BASIC MOBILITY PILOT STUDY?
The Guaranteed Basic Mobility (GBM) Pilot is a research study that is investigating how providing a minimum level of mobility might be helpful to people who otherwise have unmet mobility needs.
This pilot is studying ways to provide different types of transportation to people that might help them to safely and reliably reach critical destinations such as jobs, schooling, health care providers, and sources of fresh food.
NOTE: this pilot is not the same as the DHS Discounted Bus Fare Program you may have heard about, and Pittsburgh residents will not be able to participate in both studies. If you would like more information on how these programs differ from each, please contact one of our staff members at the phone number or email address below.
SOME PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE:
- Monthly transit pass from Port Authority
- Monthly bikeshare from POGOH
- Monthly SPIN pass
- Shared car rental from Zipcar*
- Others will complete surveys for up to $180
* Denotes services that require a driver's license to use
